I have had the great fortune of being a successful restauranteur for most of my adult life. I have often been asked, “What are Scott’s Restaurants’ biggest assets?”  I always answer with great pride and a smile on my face that there are many, but two are equally as important and are foremost in my mind.

One is our guests. They are loyal and many have been with us for multiple generations. Some began their Scott’s Restaurant experience with their christenings catered by us in their family homes; they attended their high school proms in our private banquet rooms, and they celebrated their college graduations with family and friends in our dining rooms.  Others have had first dates, followed by their weddings and then multiple anniversary celebrations hosted at our facilities. We also have guests that were introduced to Scott’s Restaurants through professional affiliations.  These became opportunities to entertain more events – both personal and professional in both our Jack London Square and Walnut Creek locations. Scott’s Restaurants cherishes its long-term friendships and welcomes the opportunity to develop new relationships with our guests.

The other asset is our staff.  We have cultivated a loyal team of employees who are so important for our success. We have 254 employees in our organization. Twenty have been with Scott’s Restaurants for more than 30 years, forty-one for more than 25 years, and fifty-two for more than 20 years.  At least 50% of our employees have been with us for more than 15 years! A key to our long-term success is that Scott’s Restaurants likes to promote from within.  Many of our chefs and managers began with positions in the kitchen or dining room and have advanced to leadership roles in both our Jack London Square and Walnut Creek restaurants – Executive Chef, Head Chefs, General Managers, Dining Room Managers, Directors of Catering and Banquet Sales, and Banquet Operations Managers. We are a family business and many of our employees have become members of our team through their families or friends.
